There’s been a lot of talk recently about how biased HBO’s upcoming look at the Republican 2008 Presidential ticket might be. Based off the book written by John Heilemann and Mark Halperin, Game Change was a bit of a wildcard, but now Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman are on board to produce. America’s favorite actor is a well-known liberal, but more importantly, he’s also highly credible. One would assume he wouldn’t lend his support to a project too partisan or misinformed. Game Change may end up taking a slightly leftist viewpoint, but it’s hard to imagine it will be liberal with the facts, which is more important, to me anyway.

Beyond Hanks and Goetzman, Game Change has also found its John McCain to play opposite Julianne Moore’s Sarah Palin. According to Deadline, Academy Award nominee Ed Harris will play the Senator and former Presidential candidate. At sixty, he’s fourteen years younger than McCain, but with make-up, the age difference shouldn’t be a problem. Once old people get to a certain age, it’s hard to narrow down their years with any sort of specificity.

Austin Powers helmer Jay Roach is directing the project which was written by Danny Strong. They were the duo responsible for HBO’s previous political effort Recount. Expect an organized and sleek final product.
