Fox Does New Years Eve Vegas Style

Not to be outdone by some of the other networks, Fox announced their own plans for New Year’s Eve. Their event is titled New Year’s Eve Live. Nothing like getting right to the point, there. The network has Spike Feresten of Talk Show with Spike Feresten and Mark Thompson of Hole in the Wall lined up to host the event and a couple of Idols signed on to perform.

New Year’s Eve Live will be broadcast from the Las Vegas Strip and will feature performances by David Cook , Daughtry, Scott Weiland and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Robbie Knievel’s also going to be there to perform a death-defying motorcycle jump. During the broadcast, Feresten will be joined by special correspondent Chrissy Russo of KSWB/FOX 5 San Diego to do interviews and a behind-the-scenes look at three of Cirque du Soleil’s Las Vegas shows, “Zumanity, The Sensual Side of Circque du Doleil,” The Beatles LOVE,” and the new CRISS ANGEL Believe.”

The whole thing sounds very Vegas, though the show will jump over to Times Square as midnight approaches to do the big countdown to 2009.

New Year’s Eve Live will air on Wednesday, December 31 at 11:00 PM – 12:30 AM ET live; CT/MT/PT tape-delayed) on Fox.
