Fox Finds Worthy Worthy

In Treatment writer Davey Holmes is taking his act to Fox with Worthy, his new drama spec script about an Arizona politician who is blackmailed by mobsters after a hit-and-run accident. Fox clearly digs the script: according to The Hollywood Reporter, they’ve made a pilot commitment.

Holmes, who sounds like the offspring of a brilliant English detective and a tentacled supernatural pirate, says the script came out of his fascination with morality in politics and the glut of recent high-profile political scandals. While the show will allude to real-life events, they’ll be fictionalized enough to keep things interesting, Law & Order style.

In addition to HBO’s therapy-fest In Treatment, Holmes previously worked on the gone-but-not-forgotten Pushing Daisies and – proving that my comparisons are oddly prescient – Law & Order. Holmes will executive produce the show with Gavin Polone.
