Fox Fouls Up Fall Schedule

Broadcasting the World Series is a blessing for a network. You get a guaranteed audience and you can pimp your other shows ad nauseum every twelve seconds. This is definitely FOX’s approach. The announcers are more likely to point out that Frankie Muniz was in the crowd than they were to discuss the importance of getting the leadoff batter on base.

With broadcasting the World Series though, any network runs into problems. For starters, it occurs in October right in the heart of the new fall television schedule. You could lose potential viewers who aren’t interested in baseball to another network. So, FOX has decided to change up the starting days on many of its shows.

This announcement, reported first by the New York Daily News is great news for all 8 of you “Prison Break” fans. The “I can’t believe it got renewed” show will debut a month early on August 21st. Then Fox will premiere two new shows a week so that the audience can get comfortable in the stories before they are yanked off the air for the St. Louis vs Detroit series (You heard it here first. I’ll deny this later). I’m sure some people will complain but think of the baseball series as redemption from pointless reruns!

Not all shows will debut early though. ‘Trading Spouses’ will debut on October 6th while the “O.C” won’t debut their next season until November 2nd. For a list of all “known” early premiere dates, read below.
