Good Guys Not Good Enough To Last

Despite being given every possible chance to succeed, the Bradley Whitford/ Colin Hanks- fronted Fox's Good Guys never quite found an audience. I briefly had the show on my DVR schedule, but after finding the first three episodes decent but not quite worth watching, I cut the cord and let it sail away. Now Fox is doing the same thing.

According to Deadline, the cancellation news still isn't official, but insiders are saying it's a done deal. With a crazy non-linear format and plotlines that often seemed beyond the basic level of television crime ridiculousness, The Good Guys just wasn't really suited for anyone. Bradley Whitford is really funny, but it's better in small doses as the selfish villain or the misguided uncle. The contrast between his ludicrous cop and Colin Hanks' straight down the middle man in uniform was just too pronounced.

Not word yet on what these two might be up to next or what Fox may do with the empty time slot, but something tells me they're a little more concerned about how the first Simon Cowell-less season of American Idol will fare.
