Jane Kaczmarek To Guest Star On This Week's Wilfred

Whenever I hear the name Jane Kaczmarek, my mind automatically conjures up the image of a TV mom with a look of borderline explosive rage on her face. She may or may not be screaming or on the verge of doing so. Sure, Kaczmarek’s curriculum vitae includes plenty of roles both before and after playing Lois on Malcolm in the Middle, but I’m sure I’m not alone in associating her with the often unraveled mom above everything else she’s done.

Kaczmarek is good for more than just her mom-voice and her mom-expressions, which is why I’m thinking Wilfred should be all the better this Thursday when she guest-stars. Spoiler alert! In Thursday night’s episode, Kaczmarek will play Beth, lawyer and single mom who offers Ryan (Elijah Wood) a “unique way for him to settle his debt” due to a traffic collision with her.

I can only imagine what this “unique” offer is, but judging by the quirkiness of the humor on Wilfred, added to Kaczmarek’s ability to dominate a scene, I’m sure it’ll be something funny. For a bit of random speculation, I’m going to guess that it has something to do with her kid(s), since her character is described as a single mom. Could Ryan (and Wilfred) be babysitting? It’s an unsettling thought, but it would certainly be amusing.

Meanwhile, Wilfred will apparently be pursuing a new love interest, which “forces Ryan to swallow his pride – among other things.”

Wilfred - Episode 7 (“Pride”) airs Thursday, August 4th at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on FX.
