Jimmy Fallon's Ew! Sketch Gets An Official Music Video

Sometimes Jimmy Fallon nods pretty hard at his Saturday Night Live roots on The Tonight Show. The man’s years of practice at sketch comedy have led to plenty of amusing moments on his late night talk show, notably with his “Ew!” sketches. Last night, we got the strangest of the strange, with an “Ew!” official music video, brought to us by Fallon and will.i.am’s alter egos, Sara and mir.i.am. Take a look, below.

For whatever reason, watching Fallon act prepubescent and awkward while wearing a bad wig and a teeny tiny dress is extremely funny. It’s so funny we’ve seen Fallon do it with Seth Rogen, Zac Efron, and Taylor Swift. Each of the sketches have their moments, but I’m not certain any of them can top will.i.am’s turn as mir.i.am who spouts phrases like “You’re gonna freakin’ flip” and “what the eff.” The character is also obsessed with poofy hair and a backpack and manages to be cool, even with the retainer.

On a base level, the music itself is wacky, but if you are actually listening to the lyrics, they are pretty clever, with references to trapper keepers, bffs, duck lips and “impleggies.” Fallon knows his fans love the Ew! sketches and has a small request for those fans.

Better question, Fallon, does anyone listen to the radio anymore?

The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon loves to put together fun, irreverent sketches, but I’m also quite partial to the games Fallon’s team invents. In particular, this year I’ve liked the stuff Fallon has produced with The Voice mentors, from “Wheel of Musical Impressions” to “Lip Sync Battle." I was a little skeptical when Fallon took over The Tonight Show, but so far things have gone pretty well. You can catch new episodes of NBC’s The Tonight Show on weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET.
