Minelli, Bice, Richie and Lachey Set To Perform On July 4th

What better way to celebrate our Independence Day than to watch one of the most popular drag-act-subjects perform “New York, New York” with the New York Pops Orchestra? No, I’m not talking about Cher, folks! Liza Minelli will be performing on NBC’s holiday special this July 4th. Along with Minelli’s performance, we can expect a performance from the one and only Lionel Richie (that’s Nicole’s daddy for you younger folk).

For those Americans who cant appreciate the talents of Liza and Lionel, perhaps they’ll prefer the vocals of American Idol (season 4) runner up, Bo Bice or Jessica’s ex, Nick Lachey. Bice will be singing “The Star Spangled Banner” a cappella. That will either be amazing or completely awful (there’s rarely a gray area with a cappella performances).

Hosting the event will be NBC’s ‘Today: Weekend Edition’ coanchors Lester Holt and Campbell Brown.
