You know how everyone has a few random, not overly famous actors that they like for no clear reason? Nancy Travis is one of those actresses for me. Maybe it's because I love So I Married An Ax Murderer or maybe it's just because I can't get enough of the curly hair, whatever the reason, it's always bothered me that she never really blew up. Nearing fifty, it's unlikely that will ever happen, but still, it's nice to see she's still getting regular work.

According to TV Guide, Travis has just signed on for an upcoming episode of Grey's Anatomy. In it, she'll play a mother taking part in an Alzheimer's clinical trial. Responding poorly and possibly unfit to care for her ten year old son, she'll push Dr. Stark to the limit as he considers calling social services on her.

Grey's Anatomy has a long history of memorable guest spots. My favorite has to be Eric Stoltz's run as a serial killer. If this one comes anywhere close, it could serve as a springboard for Travis once again finding herself aflood with offers.

No word yet on when the episode will air, but it will be sometime this season.
