Pillars Of The Earth Character Photo Guide

This summer, Starz is set to premiere the eight-hour “event series” based on the bestselling novel “The Pillars of the Earth.” For those of you who want to put the names to the faces of the people who will be portraying some of the main characters, we have some photos to share with you.
Below is Starz’s synopsis for the miniseries, which will start off with a two-hour premiere on Friday, July 23rd at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT. Further down are photos of the amazing cast that will be bringing Follett's characters to life when this miniseries premieres next month.
Starz will premiere the eight-hour event series The Pillars of the Earth, based on Ken Follett’s global bestselling novel in July 2010. Kicking off with a two-hour premiere, the series is a sweeping epic of good and evil, treachery and intrigue, violence and beauty, a sensuous, spirited story set against a backdrop of war, religious strife and power struggles in 12th Century England. The best-selling novel, which has sold more than 14 million copies worldwide and has been published in more than 30 languages, was shot on location in Hungary and Austria.Directed by three-time DGA award-winner Sergio Mimica-Gezzan (Heroes, Into the West), The Pillars of the Earth features a star-studded cast including: Ian McShane (Deadwood, Sexy Beast), Rufus Sewell (The Illusionist, A Knight’s Tale), Matthew Macfadyen (Ridley Scott’s upcoming Robin Hood, Pride and Prejudice), Eddie Redmayne (The Yellow Handkerchief, The Good Shepherd), Hayley Atwell (The Duchess), Sarah Parish (Merlin), Donald Sutherland (Dirty Sexy Money, The Italian Job), Alison Pill (Milk) and Gordon Pinsent (Away From Her).
