No Really, I'm Totally Dating This Celebrity

Just when you think there can't possibly be a new and clever take on reality programming, someone comes along with a fresh idea. FOX is ever so close to a pilot pick-up for My Parents Are Gonna Love You, a show where single contestants bring home a celebrity to meet mom and dad, and have to convince their parents they're a legitimate couple. The longer they can pull off the ruse, the more money they'll earn for their parents.

There are a lot of fun ways to play this. The celebrity in question could be someone much older, like Hugh Hefner, or someone with a promiscuous past like ... well, Hugh Hefner. Imagine a Yale University student bringing home Lindsay Lohan to his stuffy parents, or Justin Timberlake in the arms of a pig farmer's daughter.

They can push the envelope with pretend gay relationships, married celebrities, significantly younger celebrities like Miley Cyrus. As long as you can avoid parents that are violently crazy, or over-protective of their little girls (or boys), then this could be a lot of mindless fun. Plus, it would allow celebrities the chance to get in some acting practice, and show their audiences that they know how to have a good time, and help people out as well.
