Following up on the photo we saw of Barry Allen as The Flash for the CW pilot comes an even better glimpse of the costume, as this one gives us a look at what's going on below the neck. Once again, the shadowy lighting situation makes it a bit tricky to determine the exact color of the suit, but we do get a peek at some of the textures. Let's take a closer look...
Flash pilot director/executive producer David Nutter has high hopes that fans will appreciate the character and the costume, saying, "I hope the fans who treasure the character are as excited as we are by what costume designer Colleen Atwood has achieved with this latest version of The Flash’s iconic suit."
Colleen Atwood also designed the costume for Arrow. And it's actually thanks to the brainy Barry Allen that Oliver now has an actual mask to go with his hood!
Production is underway for Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and David Nutter's Arrow spinoff, which would center on Grant Gustin's character Barry Allen aka The Flash. The character was introduced to us last year during the first half of Arrow's second season, but his story has since been in limbo, and with everything that's going on on Arrow right now, added to the fate of this Flash drama also being in pilot limbo for the time being, we may be left in the dark about Barry Allen's fate for a while. But hopefully once the pilot is done, CW will give this project the thumb's up and we'll get another great superhero drama from the network.
Here's the previously released Flash costume photo...
While we wait for hopefully-good news on the Flash pilot, Arrow is gearing up for some major stuff. Last week, we got a better idea of where things turned very dark for Oliver and Slade, and tomorrow night, we have the highly anticipated "Suicide Squad" episode. Check out the previously released "Full Circle" trailer that teases some of the escalating plots...
