The dynamic duo of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are putting together a project for FX. The comedy project—of course it’s a comedy project—is called Bigfoot, and is based on a series of somewhat obscure books, including Me Write Book and I Not Dead, written and illustrated by Graham Roumieu.

If you don’t know much about Roumieu’s original character, he’s described as a bipolar outsider, a creature who is extremely sensitive about everything but who has trouble expressing his feelings. It’s tough to be a bigfoot, and hopefully the writer and executive producers will find a way to get this sort of humor across onscreen. According to THR, American Dad writer Matt McKenna is signed on to write the project as well as executive produce. Rogen and Goldberg are also signed on to executive producer the Bigfoot project, as are Roumieu, the Jimmy Miller Co., and Floyd County Productions.

Since the books are illustrated and since McKenna is signed on, it makes sense that the comedy will be animated. If the Bigfoot project does move forward, FX should be a pretty good place for the comedy, as the network has already proved it can bring in audiences with animated comedies like Archer (although Unsupervised didn’t find as much success). We’ll let you know if Bigfoot moves forward to pilot or series at FX or perhaps even the network’s brand new sister channel, FXX, where other comedies, including It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, are headed.
