Spelling Emmy Tribute Scheduled

The enormously auspicious career of prolific television producer Aaron Spelling will be honored in a tribute at Sunday’s Emmy Awards. With an insanely disproportionate shows produced to Emmy wins ratio (only two Emmy wins for fifty years of work), Spelling’s enviable career spanned decades, boasting pop gems including ‘Charlie’s Angels,’ ‘Melrose Place,’ and ‘Charmed.’ The Academy announced Joan Collins of ‘Dynasty,’ Stephen Collins of ‘7th Heaven,’ and Heather Locklear of ‘Melrose Place’ as the scheduled bearers of honor.

The big question, however, still remains unanswered: Will the recently embittered mourner Tori show up? (I know I’d love a live unscripted catfight or two – in honor of the so-called drama king himself, of course.) Postmortem familial tensions, stemming from the highly publicized rift between ‘90210’ star Tori and grieving widow Candy, have not stopped the Academy from extending invitations to Tori, Candy and Randy Spelling.

The Primetime Emmy Awards will air live (with Spellings et al.) this Sunday on NBC.
