Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark Writer Joins Glee

Not a bad couple of days if your name is Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (I wonder if he goes by the nickname "Wrath of God"?). Aguirre-Sacasa is best known for being brought in to try and salvage the disaster that is Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark (formerly known as Julie Taymor's Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark). As far as the quality of his work on that project, we'll have to wait until June 14th to see just what he could save.

On another Aguirre-Sacasa note, just this morning on the Cinema side of things, we noted that he was hired to write the screenplay for the newly announced Carrie remake. For all the questions, queries, and qualms about that project, hop over to Josh's post detailing the production.

And now, Deadline reports that Aguirre-Sacasa has landed a pretty sweet TV gig as well, landing a co-producing and writing position on Glee. Seems like a pretty good fit for the guy brought in to salvage a Broadway musical about teenagers (even if the teenagers have superpowers). Our Carrie article also notes that the writer, "once wrote a few episodes of Big Love and has written for Marvel comics. He even did their comic-book adaptation of King’s The Stand."

The Glee season finale, "New York," airs Tuesday, May 24th at 9 p.m. ET on FOX.
