VH1 Totally Loves The 80’s…Again. Tubular, Man!

Everyone knows VH1 loves the 80’s. The music channel even has a show called, ‘I Love the 80’s.’ But just to remove any potential doubt over its 80’s-lovin credentials, VH1 premiers its original spoof-riddled movie Totally Awesome tonight at 9/8 c. Yeah, like tonight, so like totally watch it, dude.

As reported by MercuryNews.com, the show focuses on the Gunderson family and its two teens Charlie and Lori, who just relocated from Pittsburgh to a small town in California (just like the small town Hill Valley from Back to the Future? Maybe…). The two teens are in for an excellent adventure as each has to contend with fitting in (you know, the theme that was like in every 80’s teen drama ever) to their new high school. All along the way, viewers can expect scenes to pay homage to such 80’s classics as Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and Footloose, just to name a few.

Charlie immediately gets the nerd treatment by earning the distinction of geekiest senior of his school, but sets off anyway trying to win the girl of his dreams (cause’ those nerds are sooo cute when they’re in love). Meanwhile, Lori must contend with the high school’s Orwellian ban on her one true obsession, dance. Wait, it’s the 80’ and no dancing allowed? Bogus!

Also, get ready for bodacious star appearances like Ben Stein (of monotonic “Bueller…Bueller?” fame) along with Chris Kattan and Tracy Morgan of ‘Saturday Night Live.’

VH1 will air Totally Awesome at 11 PM EST tonight, immediately following its initial debut at 9 PM EST. You can also get your retro fix again from the 80’s satire this Sunday at 7 PM EST, and Monday at 7 PM EST.
