Watch Kerry Washington's Saturday Night Live Promos

Between the milk-chugging, rapping and blubbering,Taran Killam kind of steals the spotlight in the promos for Kerry Washington’s Saturday Night Live episode. But I will say this, Killam does a pretty great Eminem impersonation. I’d be curious to see how the musical guest responds to Killam’s attempts to rap like him.

Kerry Washington is making her hosting debut on the NBC late night sketch comedy series this Saturday night. Recently nominated for an Emmy Award, Washington stars as the smart, confident and capable Washington DC fixer Olivia Pope in Shonda RhimesScandal. I doubt I’m alone in hoping that her Saturday Night Live episode will include a Scandal parody, maybe with Olivia and the President (or her Gladiators) and a lot of fast-spoken passionate monologues, as the ABC drama is sort of known for that. Washington’s other recent claim to fame was playing Broomhilda von Shaft in Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained. Most of what she’s done on screen has been in the drama realm, so it’ll be interesting to see how she handles comedy for her stint on Saturday Night Live.

The episode airs this Saturday (November 2). Grammy Award winner Eminem will return for his sixth appearance as musical guest on the series. His return to SNL comes just in time for the release of his highly anticipated new album The Marshall Mathers LP 2, which is set to arrive November 5.

Will Eminem also appear in a sketch or on “Weekend Update”? Well, it wouldn’t be completely unheard of…

This Saturday’s episode follows last week’s installment, which featured Edward Norton as host. Check out the highlights from that episode here, and be sure to tune in this Saturday night at 11:30 p.m. ET on NBC. We also have a new episode of Scandal to look forward to this week. If you want a glimpse of Kerry Washington doing what she does best, be sure to tune in to ABC this Thursday night at 10:00 p.m. ET for Scandal.

Assistant Managing Editor

Kelly put her life-long love of movies, TV and books to greater use when she joined CinemaBlend as a freelance TV news writer in 2006, and went on to serve as the site’s TV Editor before joining the staff full-time in 2011 and moving over to other roles at the site. At present, she’s an Assistant Managing Editor who spends much of her time brainstorming and editing features, analyzing site data, working with writers and editors on content planning and the workflow, and (of course) continuing to obsess over the best movies and TV shows (those that already exist, and the many on the way). She graduated from SUNY Cortland with BA in Communication Studies and a minor in Cinema Studies. When she isn't working, she's probably thinking about work, or reading (or listening to a book), and making sure her cats are living their absolute best feline lives.
