Destiny's PS4 and PS3 versions will come with several pieces of exclusive content. Today, Bungie revealed exactly what PlayStation gamers will be getting when the game launches in September.

PS4 and PS3 owners will get access to an exclusive co-op strike set on Mars. Up to three players will pursue the Cabal through a ruined skyscraper called the Dust Palace. During this mission, they'll encounter a new enemy type called the Psion Flayers.

The PlayStation-specific content also includes a new competitive multiplayer map called Exodus Blue. The titular Exodus Blue is a wrecked transport vessel with plenty of room for a gunfight. Players can enter the ship in Control or Skirmish game modes.

Acquiring loot is a big part of Destiny so PlayStation gamers will get some extra rewards to chase, too. The Warlock, Hunter and Titan character classes will each get access to a new set of armor. They can acquire these two weapons (descriptions via PlayStation Blog):
  • The Monte Carlo - This exotic assault rifle is a handcrafted showpiece with a sleek look that masks the cruel reality of its function — the efficient elegant delivery of war against any who would tarnish its legacy. Upgrades increase the weapon’s “hip fire” effectiveness and boost melee cool down, providing a firm grounding for close range domination.
  • The Hawkmoon - This hand cannon is a true gunslinger’s weapon — a smooth sidearm that makes every bullet count with intricate “hawk feather” etchings carved into the weapon’s silvered barrel. Damage boosts increase the combat effectiveness, making it a formidable weapon.
Rounding out the PS3- and PS4-exclusive content are three ships: the Aurora Wake, Crypt Hammer and Outrageous Fortune. It's unclear whether these different ships have features that affect the player. If nothing else, they've got distinct paint jobs. Screenshots of the ships and other PlayStation exclusives can be seen in the gallery below.

While PlayStation gamers will have to wait until launch to get these exclusives, they already received another special perk from Bungie. PS4 owners were able to play an exclusive alpha test this weekend. The alpha test, which wrapped up this afternoon, allowed players to test out co-op and competitive missions from the full game.

Destiny is set to hit the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3 and PS4 in September. The PS4 version of the game will be offered as part of a bundle with a white console.
