New Family Friendly Website Explains Why Rockstar Games Are Bad For Kids

published: 2011-05-17 14:49:14
The ESRB website is there as an information guide for anyone who isn’t sure just how mature that ‘M’ rating really is attached to whatever new shooter game just released. However, just because a game has a ‘Mature’ rating doesn’t necessarily mean anyone under 17 would be highly offended by the content. A new website called Family Friendly Video Games breaks down a report card summary of just how offensive some of the content may be and a parent-friendly review of the game to ensure that there’s no confusion on whether little Timmy should be playing L.A. Noire or not.

Eliot Mizrachi, director of communications, Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) had a few positive comments to share on the new FamilyFriendlyVideoGames.com website, saying…
"…By including our rating summaries along with their other Report Card elements, FamilyFriendlyVideoGames.com is making an important contribution to ESRB's mission of empowering consumers, especially parents, with the ability to make informed decisions about the computer and video games they choose for their families."

Family Friendly Video Games will be working closely with the ESRB to ensure that parents and gamers of all ages are properly informed about the software purchases that they make, so little Sarah doesn’t traumatized for life after playing something like Suda51’s No More Heroes: Paradise. Heck, even big Mike stands a chance of being traumatized for life after playing No More Heroes.

Anyway, parents who would like to exercise some extra caution before purchasing a game or would like to be more informed about what to purchase or what to let their kids play will probably thoroughly enjoy a site like Family Friendly Video Games. You can learn more by heading on over to the Official Website to see how the report card system works.
