Halo 4 received the Crimson Map Pack, the first DLC for the game's competitive multiplayer modes. However, a bug is preventing many players from properly downloading these new maps.

If you purchased the Limited Edition of Halo 4 or the War Games Map Pass, you're supposed to get these maps for free. However, as of now, Xbox Live isn't recognizing the Map Pass or LE. In order to play the new maps, you'd have to pay for them.

343 Industries said via Twitter that they're currently investigating the issue. They don't have an estimate for when they'll fix it, though.

The Crimson Map Pack adds three maps called Wreckage, Harvest and Shatter. It also introduces a new game mode entitled Escalation. For a proper preview of the new content, watch the recent trailer.

343 plans to release three map packs for Halo 4 in total. Hopefully the next two, Majestic and Castle, have smoother launches.
