MTV Cuts Mass Effect Feature

published: 2006-11-16 00:00:00
Microsoft has been at the forefront of promoting new Xbox 360 titles and showcasing their goods wherever they can. However, due to time constraints MTV had to pull a scheduled airing of Mass Effect on the G-Hole. Microsoft, saddened at the turn of events, offered an apology to the gaming community. Seriously.

MTV’s Gamer Week 2.0 was supposed to run a special feature on the exclusive game on the Xbox 360, although scheduling just didn’t work in Mass Effect’s favor. Developed by Bioware and supposedly featuring 1000's of places to visit in outer space, the game has story-heavy elements that rely on a new interactive system for players to utilize. I don’t know the technical details, yet.

Nonetheless, the gameplay footage video of Mass Effect will be available online at Games.MTV.com, following the premiere of The G-Hole at 8 p.m. EST/ 5 p.m. PST. Oh yeah, and being the corporate softies that they are, Microsoft's PR issued this sentiment in the press release, “Again we are sorry for any inconveniences.” I don’t think a feature of a video game on a television show (especially MTV) would inconvenience anyone all that much. But it was nice of them to think so highly of us gaming enthusiasts. ;)
