Episode 43 of the Official PlayStation Blogcast went live last night, giving listeners their usual hour-long dose of news, tips and updates, including a sneak peek at next week's PlayStation Network update. According to Jeff Rubenstein and company, the seriously underrated Mirror's Edge will finally be made available for a digital purchase, making the week of free-running gamers the world over.
Mirror's Edge originally released back in 2007, putting players in control of Faith, a young woman trying to save her sister from the sinister organization that controls a futuristic city through nefarious means. Faith is a runner, which means she spends her days and night running across rooftops in order to deliver messages and packages for an underground resistance. Mirror's Edge is all about momentum and fluid movement, tasking players to get from point A to point B in the most stylish way possible, utilizing vaults, slides, leaps and more in order to turn countless skyscrapers into Faith's personal playground. When you weren't fiddling with the game's less-than-stellar shooting bits, the free-flowing gameplay was a genuine treat. Now, according to the latest PlayStation Blogcast, players will be given another chance to take Faith on a death defying run with a full digital release during Tuesday's regularly scheduled store update. It looks to be a big week for PSN in general, as Mirror's Edge will be joined by the likes of other PS3 titles Dead or Alive 5, FIFA 13 and Starhawk. Grand Theft Auto 3 is set to represent the PS2 with Turnabout being added as a PS1 classic. Finally, next week's PSN games look to include HELL YEAH!, Marvel vs. Capcom Origins, One Piece: Pirate Warriors, Realms of Ancient War and Tokyo Jungle. Hope your wallet is feeling frisky. It might be pretty busy once Tuesday rolls around. Source: PlayStation Blogcast via PSNStores. Back to top
