Slightly Mad Studios has updated Project CARS and fans have taken to the netwaves to showoff the latest additions to the game, including the new weather, rain and reflection effects. A batch of screenshots have surfaced and the game, as usual, looks absolutely gorgeous.

DSO Gaming spotted the new shots and posted up a few. The shots consist of the game's weather effects in play; the downpour, rain droplets, water reflection and overcasting. You get a really good look at the way it all plays out in different times of the day and different ways the weather can affect the track.

Project CARS is being funded by Slightly Mad Studios and the community, working as one of the most high profile AAA games not having direct funding or backing from a top-name publisher.

The game is scheduled to launch in 2013 for the Xbox 360, PS3, PC and Wii U. You can learn more by paying a visit to the Official WMD Website
