Rockstar Games released four new high-def screenshots of their upcoming Western shooter Red Dead Redemption today. Unsurprisingly, they're a mixture of six-shooters and horses.

Redemption's an open world game powered by Rockstar Advanced Game Engine (RAGE), the same tech behind Grand Theft Auto IV and Midnight Club: Los Angeles. See that nice shot of the lake and mountains? You can explore every inch of that. You'd probably have a bit more fun shooting people, though. That seems to be the more appealing aspect of open world games.

"Much more information as well as media are coming in the next few weeks," said Rockstar on their news wire. Redemption is slated for an early 2010 release for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.
