Sega's prime-time racing game for the home consoles and PC has just gone portable. The company announced today that the tri-vehicle racing game has officially launched for Nintendo's 3DS, bringing with it all the fun-filled antics and multiplayer mayhem that made the bigger versions so much fun.

John Cheng, President and COO, SEGA of America commented in the press release about the game's release on Nintendo's portable handheld, saying...
“A game like Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed is perfect for the Nintendo 3DS,” ... “Whether it’s one of the classic SEGA characters, NASCAR racer Danica Patrick, or Disney’s Wreck It Ralph, everyone will have a favorite to race to the finish line.”

In addition to Panica Patrick and Wreck-It Ralph, Sega has also tossed in the bonus Metal Sonic character as a playable racer in the game, specifically just for Nintendo 3DS gamers. An extra bonus track from the game Outrun has also been included along with bonus time trials, challenges and stickers to add to your in-game drivers license.

You can grab a copy of the game from your local retailer while supplies last. I imagine the game may be made available digitally at some point, but there's no word on that just yet. For more information on the game feel free to pay a visit to the Official Website.
