Star Wars: Old Republic Update 1.2 Needs Testers

Game Update 1.2 of Star Wars: The Old Republic will arrive on the Public Test Server soon. They're looking for guilds to help test the new content included in the patch before it hits the live game servers.

Update 1.2 will feature a new Flashpoint, Operation, and Warzone. Therefore, they're looking for people with max-level characters. Unfortunately, though, they don't have an automated process for copying your characters over to the test server. If you're interested in testing 1.2, you'll have to follow these steps:

1. Gather a strike team from your Guild of no more than 16-20 players (8 works too, of course) who have ready-to-raid (or PVP) level 50 characters in the game. These must be players who are willing to put the live game aside for a while and help us out on the Public Test Server.

2. Ensure that each player patches to the Public Test Server and logs into it before submitting your team list via email. 3. Ensure that each player has an empty character slot (that is, they must have 7 or fewer characters) on the Public Test Server.

4. Send an email to guilds@swtor.com with the subject “[Your Guild Name] Game Update 1.2 Testing” and include the following information:

  • The server that your Guild is currently on.
  • A very brief summary of your Guild’s end-game accomplishments. (No more than 50 words, please.)
  • Account name (the name that shows up when you post on the SWTOR forums)
  • Account e-mail address
  • Character name of the level 50 they wish to have copied to the Public Test Server.

BioWare warns that spaces for testing are limited. They encouraged interested players to send in your email requests as soon as possible. Accepted guilds will be notified via email.

Update 1.2 will be the second major content patch for Old Republic. In addition to adding new endgame content, this patch will introduce various Legacy system features. Last we heard, BioWare was planning to release 1.2 this month.
