Watch Dogs Video Contains Six Minutes Of Shooting, Hacking, GTA

Aiden Pearce from Watch Dogs is an interesting fellow, certainly not for his lack of personality but more-so for his ability to hack just about any and everything around him, as evidenced in the latest six minute gameplay video that contains...well, lots of gameplay.

Watch Dogs puts you into the role of a free-agent of digital destruction. Aiden can hack into just about anything, get information on anything or anyone and gain access to any and everything. He's like the Superman for our digitally-operated society.

As showcased in the video, there's a strong reliance on Aiden's cell phone that he can use to do complicated things like hack into a security infrastructure or simple things like press an elevator button because he's a lazy American who doesn't like to get up to press buttons. However, he gets rather physical when it's time to commit a little grand theft auto later on in the video.

Anyway, I was very impressed with the environmental scope of interactivity. There always seems to be something to do, something to interact with or something to explore. This really fixes one of the biggest issues in every other open-world game out there that isn't Red Dead Redemption. I love how you can go into an alley and just mess around with people and cameras and stuff like that. It's also neat how NPCs react to Aiden, such as the gun shop owner who presses the alarm button to alert the police. There's an infrastructure of inter-connectivity that seems to both work for and against Aiden, which could really help drive the gameplay to new depths if it's executed correctly and on a proper scale throughout the entire game.

You can look for Watch Dogs to launch later this year for the Xbox 360, Xbox Infinity, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Wii U and PC. For more information on the game feel free to visit the Official Website.
