We haven't seen much of Billy Crystal lately-- he hasn't been in a major movie since 2002's Analyze That. So there must be something really, really special about Disney's Dwayne Johnson project Tooth Fairy, since it's bringing Crystal out of semi-retirement to take a part in the family comedy.
Variety doesn't reveal which role Crystal will play, though presumably it will involve fast-talking and maybe a little screaming. I've been ragging on Tooth Fairy a lot, presuming it's another disposable family comedy starring The Rock, but this cast is starting to intrigue me. Billy Crystal has been missed onscreen, and he'll be joined by the likes of Julie Andrews and co-creator of the British Office Stephen Merchant. Is it possible I'll actually look forward to this movie after all?
