They're finally here! The Golden Globes, the glitzy runner-up to the Academy Awards, have finally announced their nominees for the year, and as usual, they're a mix of expected favorites, surprise snubs, and completely crazy shockers. Doubt, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, and Frost/Nixon, led the pack with five nominations apiece, while critical favorites like Milk and The Dark Knight were complete shut-outs.Still, there's no consensus, and the love continues to be spread all over the place in a year when there seem to be no sure things. I'll let you take a look at the full list of nominees below, taken from Awards Daily, but be sure to look for a few surprises. James Franco nominated for Pineapple Express but not Milk! Robert Downey Jr. and Tom Cruise nominated in supporting actor for Tropic Thunder! Nothing for Sex and the City: The Movie, a box office powerhouse many expected to triumph here. Several movies gain some traction from these nominations, particularly Revolutionary Road, which was hurting badly with critics groups and now has four nominations to boast of (including Best Picture-Drama and Best Director). Doubt can also brag that all four of its actors made it in, perhaps boosting the chances for Amy Adams in Supporting Actress, the weakest of that movie's four nominees. And In Bruges, a comedy that came out nearly a year ago, scored three nominations, meaning it could make it into the big race after all. Oh, and: BRAD AND ANGELINA ARE BOTH NOMINATED OMG!!! Because star power, lest we forget, is what the Golden Globes are actually all about.
