We're finally getting some real information on Spider-Man 3, and it isn't just vague speculation. Thank you Kirsten Dunst for being a dunce.

In an interview with Zap2It, Kirsten blurted out the answer to the question that's been on the minds of Spider-Fans for months now… who will the villains be in Spider-Man 3? "We have really great people though as the villains in this film, Thomas Haden Church and Topher Grace -- Venom and Sandman," says Dunst. Realizing she might have spoken out of turn, she attempted to backtrack with, "Maybe I wasn't supposed to say that."

But twho Topher and Thomas are playing is now really out in the open, and though there hasn't been an official statement from Raimi on who will be playing who in the film, maybe this will finally quiet down some of the rampant internet speculation. Of course, just to keep the rumors going, there's one little issue… Kirsten hasn't read the movie's script. I know what you're thinking, she's illiterate. But no, apparently she can read, they just haven't given it to her. I wonder why? "But I know the general story," she assures us. "There's a lot that they're trying to fit into this one." Not nearly as much as they're trying to fit into the third X-Men, but two high-profile villains is a switch for a franchise that has gone the one villain, one hero route thus far.

For those of you who have missed out on things like comic books and Saturday morning cartoons, or just have the brainpower of Kirsten, here's some explanation:

Venom is an alien symbiote that once possessed Spider-Man by disguising itself as his costume. The costume gifted the wall-crawler with increased abilities, but gradually took over his mind. After Peter Parker discarded it, the suit was put on by Eddie Brock, turning him into the powerful, hate-filled villain with a grudge against Spider-Man. In some ways, Venom looks, and sometimes even acts like a black and white version of Spidey.

Sandman, a character popular with the hardest of hardcore comic nerds, is a criminal who stumbled into radiation. Since it's a comic, the radiation didn't peel off his skin. Instead, it gave him the power to turn his body into a sand-like substance.
