Remember when Ashton Kutcher and Paul Walker were supposed to be cast in every upcoming 80’s TV show to movie translation? Doesn’t look like any of them are working out. The Knight Rider movie is on the skids and now comes word that they're out of running for the Dukes of Hazzard movie. Instead, Warner Brothers has announced that joining Jessica Simpson as Daisy Duke will be Johnny Knoxville as Luke Duke and Sean William Scott as Bo Duke.

I guess it’s a blessing that they ditched the Paul Walker idea, but aside from having the right hair colors I can’t see Knoxville or Scott as Bo and Luke. Sean William Scott is a bit of a goof, not the dashing hot dude that Bo always was, and I can’t see Johnny Knoxville as a sensible older brother. Then again, this is a Dukes of Hazzard movie, so what sort of quality could we reasonably expect anyway? If we’re lucky it’ll be a semi-decent parody like Starsky & Hutch, I for one have given up on anyone taking these great old eighties properties seriously (yes I called the Dukes a great 80's property... I loved that show!).
