I'll be the first to admit that skepticism was abound when I first started hearing tell of a Karate Kid remake. So often are remakes terrible that surely a redo of this classic underdog tale would be terrible, right? Well, things are shaping up for me to be sorely mistaken as Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith seem to have hit the nail on the head this time around, and the new setting adds an element of something new that can't be ignored.

Today we got our hands on an international poster for the film and despite the wholly bored look on Chan's face, it's not so bad. The poster comes from Jackie Chan's twitter account, unlikely as that sounds. The familiar color grading keeps everything warm and the fact that their heads aren't disembodied entities is a welcome change. Karate Kid drop kicks its way to theaters June 11.
