Leo DiCaprio is feeling lucky. He’s making a poker movie, but not one of those cool, classy poker movies where we watch characters hang out in glamorous casinos. Nope, Leonardo’s placing his bets on his underwear. He has a bit of an online gambling problem.
Variety says Paramount has bought up a pitch about online casinos based on Costa Rica, and Leo is attached to star and produce it. Brian Koppelman and David Levien will write it, both of whom have had some experience in the gambling world. They wrote both Rounders and Ocean’s Thirteen together. They also wrote The Girlfriend Experience for Soderbergh, a film which I’m sort of surprised to learn even had a script.
