Les Miserables Blu-ray Clip Talks Epic And Heartfelt Stories

I’m not sure there could be a better day for Blu-ray news. Not only does Skyfall hit shelves today, but earlier this morning, Universal announced Les Miserables is coming to Blu-ray and DVD, and will do so sooner than fans may have guessed. The hit musical will be available on March 22, and to tide fans over in the interim, Universal Studios Home Entertainment has put together a special clip for the release.

The Blu-ray and DVD clip is not a trailer for the home entertainment release, exactly, although it does offer plenty of pretty shots and magnificent footage from the film. The segment also focuses on some of the film’s biggest actors, including Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Amanda Seyfried, and Anne Hathaway, as well as director Tom Hooper and explains the excitement and feelings of epic-ness the cast and crew felt about bringing a musical like Les Miserable to the big screen. It does help that the segment is supplemented with music from the film and provides shots of some of the out of this world sets used during filming.

Les Miserables will come in a Blu-ray combo pack that will include a DVD and digital copy, and will be available solely on DVD. Either option features plenty of bonus features, although the Blu-ray will come with a few extras, including the one I feel is most important—a segment that shows audiences how difficult it was to sing live. Honestly, we’ve heard plenty about this feat from the actors, but seeing is believing. You can check out the full and extensive list of bonus features, below, or read more about them, in our Blu-ray announcement.
