Still absolutely no sign of the Miami Vice theme song in the first full trailer for the film. Director Michael Mann seems determined not to give us what we want. Instead (if this trailer is any judge) he's giving us a film that looks a lot like the first Bad Boys, minus the wisecracks. There's certainly nothing funny in Miami Vice, and actually Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx sound kind of depressed.
But the trailer is really beautiful, Mann shows off some really stunningly beautiful cinematography. Just not a lot of fun. It looks like just another cop movie. It's Training Day or A Man Apart or one of the hundreds of other movies you can probably name off the top of your head from the gritty cop drama genre.
