Cinema Blend's official stance on Ridley Scott's Robin Hood is disappointment, given that all the cool ideas about making the Sheriff of Nottingham the hero seem to have been shoved aside in favor of making a pretty traditional movie. But hey, we've never been known to turn down a good summer blockbuster, not to mention an opportunity to see Russell Crowe in tights. Which is how you'll find us and plenty of others in the box office line on May 14, 2010, when Robin Hood is set to be released.

Universal announced the date today, as reported by Coming Soon, setting up their movie in what looks like one of the most exciting Mays for movies in a while. We'll be seeing Iron Man 2, Shrek Goes Fourth and Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, all of which are already building their share of buzz. Is it possible to just skip this summer and go straight ahead to May 2010?
