Roman Polanski Shoots Exclusive Short Film For Prada
You donít have to travel all the way to the south of France to see Roman Polanskiís new short film, shot for Prada and starring Sir Ben Kingsley and Helena Bonham Carter. You can stay in your pajamas and watch it from the comfort of your own living room, because weíre attaching it here
Polanskiís film, titled A Therapy, finds Bonham Carterís Prada-draped protagonist venting to her psychiatrist, played by a curious Kingsley. Itís an exquisite clip, one whose colors and styles call attention to the fashion. And, of course, thereís the punchline about a special coat. But all of this focus could be because we know going into the clip that itís sponsored by Prada.
The credits on the short are pretty impressive. Ronald Harwood, Oscar-winning screenwriter on Polanskiís The Pianist, lends his words to the clip. Alexandre Desplat writes the playful music, while Eduardo Serra (The Wings of the Dove, the Harry Potter series) acts as Polanskiís director of photography.
The short, Iím sure, will be used in some form of advertising for Prada. Polanski, speaking to the Telegraph UK, couldnít have been more gracious for the opportunity to shoot for Prada, saying:
When I was asked to shoot a short movie for Prada, I did not think that I could really be myself, but the reality is that in the total freedom I was given, I had the opportunity to reunite my favorite group of people on set and just have fun. Ö It's very refreshing to know that there are still places open to irony and wit and, for sure, Prada is one of them.Ē
Do you agree with the tagline? Does Prada suit everyone?
