Tarantino Sued Over Kill Bill Movies![]()
In the “I’m a crazy person and I need some cash so I might as well start suing people” category of legal suits, TMZ is reporting that Quentin Tarantino and co. are facing a lawsuit over the Kill Bill franchise. Dannez Hunter has filed suit claiming he was the brainchild behind the Kill Bill movies, and now he wants to get his. Hunter says he submitted a treatment to Miramax with similarities to events and characters in Tarantino’s blockbuster franchise. He claims Miramax and Tarantino took his ideas and made a killer movie.
I’m not saying the lawsuit is frivolous. In fact it might be true. Who knows? Where this lawsuit loses a little steam is this sentence, “Hunter, who says he was from the inner city, applied for a job at Miramax but ‘was never given a return phone call, as numerous similarly situated, less qualified Jewish and White people were bestowed job after job after job." Didn’t get a phone call back after a job application? That sounds like 99.9% of the jobs I’ve ever applied for. Nobody ever gets calls back. I wish I could sue every company that has my resume sitting in a filing cabinet somewhere. I’d be loaded. Playing the race card in a lawsuit is tricky business, and Hunter’s claim seems particularly out there. In fact, they just sound like the ramblings of an angry, jealous and crazy person in need of a payday. |
