X-Men: Days Of Future Past Images Include A Look At Evan Peters As Quicksilver
These days, if you’re looking for Evan Peters, you can find him over on American Horror Story: Coven, serving as the dreamy frankenboyfriend to Emma Roberts and Taissa Farmiga’s witchy characters. But Peters will be back to feature film work of the ass-kickery variety when X-Men: Days of Future Past arrives in theaters. The photo above gives us our first look at Peters as Quicksilver. He’s tucked behind Hugh Jackman, Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy, but the picture does give us a glimpse of his flashy jacket and lighter locks.
Based on how they’re dressed, that scene looks familiar, only the previous image we saw excluded Peters. Here’s a slightly more magnified view of the new photo, which comes to us courtesy of Screencrush:
As Screen Crush points out, this may be a more casual look for Quicksilver — aka Pietro Maximoff — as the sneakers and jacket don’t exactly scream suited-up.
The above picture isn’t the only X-Men: DoFP image we’ve seen today. EW shared this one, which shows an oddly angled shot of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine laying on the floor, while Beast (Nicholas Hoult) hovers awkwardly over him:
Is he about to land or is he hanging from something?
X-Men: Days of Future Past is due to arrive in theaters on May 23. Director Bryan Singer told EW he calls the film an "inbetweequel," meaning it’s not a conventional sequel to the X-Men films, nor is it a reboot, as it includes some of the same characters and actors from the earlier films. So it’s somewhere in between. Inbetweequel.
How exactly are these concepts colliding? The premise of the film has Jackman’s present-day Wolverine being sent back to the 1970s to change a major historical event that could have a global impact on man and mutant kind. While Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen play the present-day versions of Xavier and Magneto, X-Men: First Class's James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender play their 1970s counterparts. Jennifer Lawrence is set to return to her role as Raven, while Lucas Till will return to his role as Havok. Meanwhile, earlier-X-Men stars Shawn Ashmore (Iceman), Ellen Page (Kitty Pride), Daniel Cudmore (Colossus) and Halle Berry (Storm) are also set to return for Days of Future Past.
