Ghostbusters 3 Still Moving Forward After Harold Ramis' Death
Ivan Reitman is going to be meeting with the heads of the studio to figure out exactly how they will move forward. Apparently the idea for the script was to have Ramis, Murray, Aykroyd and Hudson make cameo appearances in the second sequel and then "set up a baton-passing to a trio of newcomers."
Ghostbusters 3 Details Revealed By Dan Aykroyd
Aykroyd wasn’t exactly forthcoming with new details, either, though he did promise King a role in this one, where he could “comment on what’s happening in Manhattan up there at Morningside Heights. It’s going to be quite a spectacular scene once the stuff starts to break.”
Dan Aykroyd Says Bill Murray Can't Stop Ghostbusters 3 From Happening
This past summer, Aykroyd finally admitted Murray was out of Ghostbusters 3, which to many movie fans—myself included—seems like reason enough to let this project die. However, when Aykroyd is not promoting his Crystal Head vodka, he's cheerleading for Ghostbusters 3. Speaking with Esquire, Aykroyd insisted that not only was the project still brewing, but also there's nothing Murray can do to stop it.
Is Ghostbusters 3 Finally Shooting Next Summer?
With Reitman filming in 2013, that means even if the comedy relies on complicated special effects (which seems likely), Son still can get the sequel in theaters by 2014 … or, on the 30th anniversary of the original film. Think about the film retrospectives that can be planned around that celebration.
Ivan Reitman Suggests Ghostbusters Should Be Remade, Says Twins Sequel Is Just A Press Release
No matter how many times we hear about it, no matter how many updates we get from the cast and crew, I truly believe that we will never see a Ghostbusters 3. While we've been hearing rumors about the project for years, it's never been able to get beyond the script stage, yet people keep asking the filmmakers and actors about it, and they seem to insist that we will someday see a sequel.
Bill Murray Officially Out Of Ghostbusters 3
"It's sad but we're passing it on to a new generation. Ghostbusters 3 can be a successful movie without Bill," Aykroyd said. "My preference would be to have him involved but at this point he doesn't seem to be coming and we have to move on. It's time to make the third one.”
Ghostbusters 3 Hires A New Writer, For Real This Time
For once, this is a Ghostbusters 3 headline that doesn't come from Dan Aykroyd mouthing off. This is real, actual news, and Variety reporting it, which gives it a very high likelihood of being true. They're saying that Sony has brought in Etan Cohen, the screenwriter behind Tropic Thunder, Idiocracy and Men In Black 3, to write a new script for Ghostbusters 3...
Dan Aykroyd Says Ghostbusters III Has New Writers
Like the last bit of news we heard on Dan Aykroyd's long promised—or long threatened, depending on how you look at it—Ghostbusters III, the latest update comes not from a trusted industry trade, but from a local news team. WIVB4 of New York snagged a few moments with Aykroyd as he signed bottles at a liquor store in Amherst, promoting his Crystal Head Vodka.
Bill Murray Calls Ghostbusters 3 A Possibility, But Don't Worry About It Ever Happening
Aykroyd had at long last admitted Bill Murray would have nothing to do with it. This sounded like the death rattle for Ghostbusters 3, and after hearing some of Aykroyd's horrifying pitches—including dispirited, crippled Ghostbusters, a dead Venkman, and some young blood in the form of female eye-candy
Dan Aykroyd Threatens To Recast Venkman In Probably Nonexistent Ghostbusters 3
Yes, that's right-- Aykroyd suggested to Empire that they could bring in another actor to play Venkman. He also said there's still more work to do on the script, so it doesn't seem like they've made any actual progress in the last, oh, three years or so. But none of that has ever stopped Aykroyd from plugging the movie that doesn't seem to be at all close to existing
Did Bill Murray Shred His Ghostbusters 3 Script And Mail It To Harold Ramis?
I mean, he's not wrong-- throughout the entire development process of Ghostbusters 3 there have been plenty of us out there questioning the very concept, and at one point the movie was going to be not a sequel but a reboot
Sigourney Weaver Says They Won't Do Ghostbusters III Without Bill Murray
Things are looking less certain for the third Ghostbusters, if what Sigourney Weaver said in this recent interview is true. Ghostbusters III may be without a cast if Bill Murray doesn’t sign on to join the rest of the original cast members in the film.
John Hodgman To Appear In Ghostbusters 3?
Humorist John Hodgman’s film appearances aren’t exactly plentiful at this point, with his most recent role being the “Candy Store Manager” in the recent remake of Arthur, however, that could be changing if this rumor about Ghostbusters 3 is to be taken seriously.
Ghostbusters 3 Hopes To Shoot This Spring, Moving Forward Without Murray?
Back at the start of this year I had the chance to sit down in a one-on-one interview with director Ivan Reitman when the subject of Ghostbusters III came up. While rumors were flying around involving potential casting and story, Reitman said with authority that, "Virtually everything you’ve read on the internet [about Ghostbusters III] is not accurate."
Bill Murray Talks More About His Disinterest In Ghostbusters 3, Hasn't Read Script
Bill Murray showed up on the Satellite broadcast Howard Stern show this morning and, because Howard is kind of a geek, he got asked about Ghostbusters 3. Bad news ghostbusting fans, he still doesn’t seem the least bit interested in doing this movie.
