Shaun White Apologizes For Behavior Prior To His Arrest

Like a seasoned politician, Shaun White apologized for his behavior today without specifically admitting anything he did wrong. The Olympic gold medalist was arrested over the weekend in Tennessee for allegedly pulling a fire alarm, destroying a phone, trashing his room and kicking a random dude who tried to stop him from leaving in a taxi. He wound up with a pretty gnarly shiner, two misdemeanor charges related to his behavior and a torrent of bad press.

It was that last part that no doubt compelled him to release a statement today, but it was the whole pending charges angle that stopped him from getting into any specifics. You can check out the incredibly vague apology he published on Facebook earlier today below…

”I want to apologize for the unwise choices I made over the weekend and for any inconvenience it caused my family, friends, business partners, the hotel and their guests. I was celebrating a happy occasion with a ton of family and friends and got carried away. I'm truly sorry for my poor behavior.”

It’s unclear what happy occasion White was in Nashville for, but considering no one was seriously hurt after he got “carried away”, there’s no reason to think this incident will follow him for very long. He’s always been a pretty upstanding and pleasant guy up to this point. I expect he will continue to be that guy from this point forward.

Expect Shaun to strike some kind of plea agreement, pay a fine and move forward rather quickly.
