Madonna Won't Be Playing Girls Gone Wild At Super Bowl, Obviously

Yesterday, Girls Gone Wild creator Joe Francis got so hot and bothered about Madonna’s use of his trademark phrase on her new album, he got some lawyers involved. Said lawyers then fired off a letter to Madonna stating she was using and abusing the phrase without Francis’ permission. No biggie, said the paperwork, as long as the singer worked out some sort of licensing agreement. Oh yeah, and does not play the song at the Super Bowl.

That last little bit is laughable, considering “Girls Gone Wild” is the opening track to MDNA Madonna’s unreleased 2012 endeavor that is not even her first single off the album. It makes a hell of a lot more sense to assume Madonna will play “Give Me All Your Luvin,’” you know, the catchy single that everyone knows about and has likely heard already?

Looks like Francis’ ego has gotten a little bit inflated from viewing too many hoe trains. However, Madonna is one female I wouldn’t try to mess with. According to TMZ, Madonna’s rep believes Francis is “flattering himself” for thinking Madonna would bother with the song during her important halftime show. Which is pretty obvious. I can just see him cracking his knuckles and muttering about 'some bitch' getting in the way of his dynasty. Sounds about right.

So, no, Madonna will not be playing the intro track to MDNA during the Super Bowl halftime show. She will be playing her new single and some popular songs from her extensive catalog that features a slew of popular hits. If Joe Francis continues with his childish tirade, I’m a little worried this battle could get ugly. I’ve seen Madonna’s subtle claws out before, namely with Elton John. With lawyers involved, who knows which of them will come out with the biggest scratch?
