Nina Dobrev And Ian Somerhalder Are Done As Couple, Not As Co-Stars
Both Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev may be staying with the original Vampire Diaries when the show spins off next year, but when it comes to their personal lives, they’re going to move forward in different directions. The dating co-stars have reportedly decided to end their long-term relationship, though exactly what the cause of the split may have been is unclear.
According to US Weekly, the former lovers, who began as best friends, have vowed to continue working together on the set and be professional about the entire thing. That’s good news for Vampire Diaries fans, and it’s great news for the CW given the show’s well-documented popularity, especially in key demos.
Neither Dobrev nor Somerhalder has spoken publically about the break-up, but some observers are pretty convinced the latter at least sideswiped the topic of conversation on his Twitter account this morning…
Dobrev and Somerhalder made it a solid three years. Given their ages and that length of time, they were really getting to the move-toward-a-lasting-commitment or go-in-separate-directions stage. Obviously, it’s very sad that they decided to go in separate directions, but in the long run, it’s far better they did this now than if they waited a few years until the commitment was even more pronounced.
We’ll let you know if either the Perks Of Being A Wallflower or potential lead in 50 Shades Of Grey release any public comments. Until then, Pop Blend’s sincerest well-wishes go out to both parties.
