The Shield Actor Michael Jace Arrested For Allegedly Murdering Wife

Michael Jace, best known for his role as Detective Julien Lowe on The Shield, was arrested late last night after his wife and the mother of his children, April Jace, was found shot to death inside the home they shared. Following conversations at the station, he was reportedly charged with her murder this morning.

Details are still really fuzzy at this point, but according to TMZ, Michael Jace was at home by himself when his wife arrived back with their two young children. A short time later, he allegedly shot her in front of the two kids and phoned police to let them know what he’d done. They descended on the scene immediately, and he was taken to the station for questioning. The two children were put in the custody of Children’s Services who later took them to the home of a family member.

At this point, the why behind any of this is very unclear. No one from the Los Angeles Police Department is speaking publicly, nor is anyone from either of the families. Considering Jace was booked for murder, however, law enforcement officers apparently believe the actor was directly responsible for what happened.

Michael Jace is best known for his 89 episode run on The Shield as Julien Lowe, a good detective who struggles to hide his homosexuality from both his family and the other guys on the force. In addition, he appeared in numerous movies including State Of Play and numerous other television shows. If it’s a procedural that’s run in the last ten years, chances are he played a cop or a suspect on it at some point or another (The Mentalist, Rizzoli & Isles, Cold Case, Murder, She Wrote, Law & Order, etc).

Pop Blend’s sincerest thoughts go out to April Jace’s children, as well as her entire family and everyone else who was touched by her life. She was only 40-years-old and will be missed.
