Just when I think I have this mystery with Evelyn Vogel all figured out, more information comes in to tell me that I'm wrong. Or am I? Even after what we learned tonight, I still don't trust her. Tonight's episode managed to squeeze in some extremely relevant history about Charlotte Rampling's character, which offers what appears to be some major set-up for whatever's to come next.
Things seemed to be going a little too well for Dexter and his friends during last night's episode. We should have anticipated a shocker-ending, and we got one. With just four episodes to go in the series, we're left to wonder how this story's going to wrap up.
It seems somewhat relevant to point out that tonight's episode of Dexter is the first of the final five episodes of the season and series. It's at this point that the series should be gearing up for the home stretch, and watching "Are We There Yet," I couldn't help but wonder when we'd start to see that.
Episode 8! We're close to the home stretch of final episodes, not only for the season but for the series, and things are certainly starting to heat up. There are a couple of outside factors that could play a fairly huge role in Dexter's life right now. Dr. Vogel is a big one, and then of course, there's Hannah and Zach, both of whom are featured in the above promo.
Are Dexter and Zach a match made in heaven, or is this mentor/apprentice match-up a recipe for disaster? I've been leaning toward the latter since Dexter cut the plastic wrap off of Zach and tonight's episode did nothing to reverse my theory that Zach's too far gone to be mentored.
We're headed into the second half of the season for Dexter, and if past seasons are any indication, by this point we should be seeing the overall plot of the season begin to really take shape. All signs point to Zach Hamilton being at the center of that, as Dexter attempts to take the kid under his wing and be his mentor, or his "Harry."
Is Zach Hamilton the next Dexter? That's a question that remains to be answered during the final season of Dexter. It was really only just posed during Sunday night's episode - if you're not caught up, consider yourselves spoiler-warned! - as Dexter stalked the young murderer and plotted to kill him before eventually deciding to take the lad under his wing and be his Harry.
Spoilers if you haven't seen tonight's episode of Dexter ("A Little Reflection"). Should we have seen the end of tonight's episode of Dexter coming? I'm thinking no. Looking back through the episode, I can't think of any hints that would have clued us in to where things were heading in the final moments of the episode.
The Television Critics Association summer panel is in full swing, and on Tuesday, Showtime President David Nevins teased the possibility of a potential Dexter spinoff hitting the subscription cable network sometime in the future. Dexter is currently airing its eight and final season on the network and while Dexter Morganís current storyline may be close to spent, there could still be room for more fodder in the future.
What seemed like an unrelated situation appears to be getting a lot more related. I'm referring to Zach Hamilton, the potential murderer introduced during last Sunday night's episode of Dexter. It was looking like Zach might be Dexter's next mark. But the preview for this Sunday's "A Little Reflection" suggests Zach will be connected to Dexter in a much bigger way, as it looks like he's a patient of Dr. Vogel's. And - bigger spoiler - she's considering introducing the code to Zach.
Is family a blessing or a burden? It seems like Dexter's been trying to figure out the answer to that question for seasons now. Maybe for the entire run of the series, really, when we consider his relationship with Deb. On one hand, his life might be a whole lot simpler if Dexter didn't have Deb around, or his son Harrison.
To say that there may be some tension between Deb and Dexter at the start of this Sunday night's episode might be an understatement, given the events of last Sunday night's "Scar Tissue." The preview for "This Little Piggy" suggests some serious couch time for Deb and Dexter to deal with what Deb did. Spoilers if you aren't caught up on Dexter through "Scar Tissue"!
Yesterday, the Dexter crew announced at Comic Con that fans would be getting a complete series set sooner rather than later, and now we have some of the details, as well as two different packages to show you. Additionally, if youíve already been pretty good about collecting the seasons of Dexter you really dig, Dexter: The Complete Final Season will also be available for buyers. Each and all of the sets will hit outlets on November 5.
In previous years, Comic-Con was the perfect time of year to get the new preview for the upcoming season of Dexter, which usually didn't air until the fall. However, Dexter got an early start this year, debuting Season 8 a few weeks ago, which means we're currently amidst the Showtime drama's final season.
Spoilers if you haven't seen the latest episode of Dexter, titled "What's Eating Dexter Morgan?"! Going by all of the seemingly intentional nods to the series' earlier years in last week's episode of Dexter, I'm going to go out on a limb in assuming that tonight's starter was one more throw-back to yesteryear and not necessarily foreshadowing of very bad things to come, though the latter is always a possibility.
