It was only recently that Netflix announced we would be getting new episodes of Fuller House a bit sooner than last year. The show is set to premiere in December, and we've been waiting patiently for a trailer in the meantime. The good news? We don't have to wait much longer. The first Fuller House Season 2 trailer is here, and it's certainly filled with holiday cheer. Give it a watch, below.
The big highlight of the trailer is the introduction to Kimmy Gibbler's brother. We've known for a while that Jimmy Gibbler would be a part of Fuller House Season 2, but the trailer makes it pretty clear that he's actually going to have an important role, as the first time we see him he's locking lips with Stephanie Tanner. Yeah, that's right, Stephanie kissed a Gibbler--a Gibbler who is basically the male version of Kimmy, as his casting description and this trailer seems to prove. I reserve judgment on whether or not that's a new low for Stephanie, who doesn't quite have it figured out.
D.J. Tanner is still waffling between two guys, but from the trailer it seems as if she may have waited too long. There's a scene that straight up mentions both Steve and Matt both have new girlfriends, so perhaps the love triangle will not be a big deal during Season 2, despite it being the main plot point during Season 1.
A ton of guest stars are also brought in. Some of these are actual members of the Tanner family, like Danny Tanner, who seems to be going through a bit of a turning 60 crisis in the trailer. Regardless, some of these are real-life nineties icons, including New Kids on the Block. Yes, the New Kids on the Block.
A slew of new characters are also expected to be introduced during Fuller House Season 2, including Ginger Gladstone, who happens to be Joey's wife.
Netflix isn't often super forthcoming about what to expect from it's original shows. We hardly ever hear anything about Orange is the New Black, for instance, before a new season premieres. However, it seems the streaming service knows it has something special with Fuller House, a spinoff of a wildly popular sitcom from the late eighties and early nineties. Because of this, we know a little more about the casting and the network is a little more excited about sharing plot points than it may be for other shows.
