Human Giant is a sketch comedy series on MTV that is somewhat similar to shows like Comedy Central’s Upright Citizen Brigade and MTV’s The State. From what I’ve seen of the series, the humor is a pretty adult oriented (even more so than Saturday Night Live). For example, in the first episode of the second season (which is available for purchase and download on iTunes), one of the sketches involves an online video of a guy cutting off his own penis just to get famous. There’s also a sketch about a reality show featuring kids who take over the responsibilities of prison guards.

I didn’t watch Human Giant last season so when I watched the first episode of the new season, I had no idea what I was in for. As I mentioned in the series description, the humor is very adult oriented and in some ways, it’s kind of over the top but that’s not really a bad thing (unless you hate that kind of humor). Personally, I think the show’s pretty funny.

What I liked about the episode I saw, aside from the funny factor was the way the sketches poked fun at things like people trying to become the next internet celebrity or reality shows that exploit children. Funny enough to add to the TiVo season’s pass? I think so.
