Bates Motel may have only put together 10 episodes in Season 1, but a lot has gone on during the A&E drama, which has introduced murders, pot plots, love triangles, and plenty of family hatred. The freshman drama is gearing up for an epic Season 1 finale on Monday that will shake things up in the Bates family universe. But first, Norma and Norman have to fight over some stupid socks.

The above clip shows Norma (Vera Farmiga) contemplating with a gun when the shrill voice of Norman (Freddie Highmore) sounds from the next room. He’s prepping for a dance and he sounds like he’s about to lose control when he can’t find a pair of black socks to go with the rest of his costume. The debate grows more heated in the household before Dylan, of all people, steps in to make peace between all parties. Things are looking even more creeptastic than usual, and I can’t wait to see how the whole episode plays out.

If you’ve caught A&E’s most recent trailer for the Season 1 finale, you already know that A&E is promising someone will die in the final episode. While I have a few hopes and theories for who will bite the dust, Bates Motel has been fairly unpredictable thus far, and I’m not prepared to count my chickens before they hatch. Luckily, A&E has already renewed Bates Motel for a second season, also signing on for another 10 episodes.

Bates Motel’s finale will air Monday, May 20 at 10:00 p.m. ET on A&E. If you are super invested, catch up with series actors Max Thieriot and Nicola Peltz, who will be live tweeting the episode.
