Prepare Yourself For Michael Weatherly's NCIS Exit With This Emotional Video

NCIS fans don’t have to worry about the hit series going away for good anytime soon, as CBS is sticking with the show for several more years at this point. But actor Michael Weatherly won’t be there for all that, as Agent Tony DiNozzo’s last (for now) adventure with his co-workers is coming in the Season 13 finale. And here’s a video that shows us what we can expect, while also swinging on our heartstrings like an emotionally fractured Tarzan. Check it out!

As if just the knowledge that DiNozzo is leaving wasn’t hard enough on the feelings, CBS now wants us to dig deeper into ourselves so that every nook and cranny of our psyche is flooded with tears and anguish. Okay, so maybe it isn’t that bad for the entire fanbase, but I know there are some out there who won’t be able to handle NCIS without Weatherly bringing the trifecta of “humor, heart and heroics.” I’d call him Triple H, but that name has been taken already.

Sure, it’s nice to hear Gibbs throwing DiNozzo his just compliments and seeing Robert Wagner’s Papa DiNozzo declaring his love, but the most direct shot to our emotional core obviously came in reliving the goodbye scene between DiNozzo and Cote de Pablo’s Ziva David when she left a couple of years ago. The kiss. The kiss! Why is the Internet so cruel?

But it’s not just a look back into the esteemed agent’s past. There is also a glimpse of what viewers can expect from the season finale, titled “Dead Letter.” We’re really hoping that the “dead” part of that title has nothing to do with DiNozzo’s goodbye, as we’re perfectly happy just keeping it limited to hugs inside of elevators and wistful memories of big events from seasons past. No reason to kill him off and destroy all hope for a guest spot in the future.

Beyond the goodbyes, we’ll also be saying hello to two new characters (played by Sarah Clarke and Duane Henry) that could end up filling DiNozzo’s spot in the lineup next season. And even though Michael Weatherly wanted to leave this particular job behind, it’s not as if he’ll be missing from our TVs forever, and he’s currently starring in the new CBS pilot Bull. Here’s hoping that puts the actor in another role that viewers can relish for years.

NCIS will bring Season 13 to a close next Tuesday, May 10, on CBS. Head to the next page for the episode’s official preview.
