The Walking Dead Season 4.5 Preview Teases Deeper And Darker Territory
Intense. Exciting. Deeper. Darker. These are some of the words used to describe what's coming up in the second half of Season 4 of The Walking Dead, along with the questions: How do we get everyone back together? How do we stay safe? How do we find sanctuary? The new featurette also gives us a look at what's in the works for some of the lead characters. And it appears likely that Rick Grimes will be taking grimy to a new level as he and Carl face new challenges.
Based on the preview, it seems like there's a hint that things might not be ok for Glen and others who were on that bus when it was getting shot at. Meanwhile, Maggie's angry — can't wait for that — Michonne's dealing with the emotional fallout of being feet from Hershel when his throat was slashed, Daryl's, well, Daryl, and it seems like Rick's back to scared-protective mode.
Here's the description AMC released for Season 4.5 of The Walking Dead, which resumes Sunday, February 9:
Following the devastating events of the mid-season finale, Rick and the group are still reeling from the loss of their home, family, and friends. With the destruction of the prison, we see the group of survivors broken apart and sent on divergent paths, unsure of everyone else's fate. What was a challenging life behind fences and walls grows that much more perilous and precious as they are exposed to new dangers, new enemies, and heartbreaking choices. They will have their faith thoroughly tested -- a faith that breaks some of them and redeems others.
As much of a relief as it is whenever the characters find shelter — Hershel's farm, the prison — it's always a little more exciting when they're between homes. Between the characters being split up at the end of the first half of Season 4 and the prison exodus, the rest of this season is a major wildcard, which is kind of nice -- in a completely not-nice way -- as it seems likely that they'll be battling walkers pretty regularly while they try to find their way back to one another and find a new "safe" place to call home.
We have just a couple of weeks for the series to return. In the meantime, here's the recently released trailer:
